Came in for date night, leaving with a new regular spot. Brendan was such a great host, and the steaks were incredible. This restaurant is busy, even on a Tuesday, so grab a reservation and swing on by. Definitely ask for Brendan; we will be back with all of our friends!

This place offers something for everyone. Upscale enough to have an event (we had our rehearsal dinner here and went off without a hitch) and low-key enough to have a few drinks and appetizers in the cozy lounge area. That said, I wouldn't consider any aspect of the place formal (which I mean in a good way). Staff here is uniformly friendly and attentive, and the menu offers decent variety. Spicy tuna tartare, steak tips and flatbreads are my personal go-to's. Unfortunately, of late, the bartenders have mixed the cocktails too far on the sweeter side for my taste. Slightly more interesting are the amazing amount of rumors that attach to this Georgian-style house at the end of Hingham's Main Street. Whether it is actually haunted or you can have success swinging up to the bar -- you'll need to explore for yourself.

Amazing food! I got the sirloin, I'm glad that I got that steak because the fillet was really small even the 10 ounce one. So if you want steak here, get the sirloin or ribeye if you are hungry for a bigger meal. Also, the fillet is really spicy. At the beginning when you order your drinks, the waiter gives you cornbread with butter, which is really good. The waiter also gives you a glass bottle of water, so you can pour your own water into your wine glass. The restaurant was really cute. My dad told me that it used to be a house. We sat in this cute little section away from a lot of people. The parking lot was packed. But when we went inside, we got a table right away, which was surprising. I will definitely be coming here again. :)

Went for a birthday celebration with the family and everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was spot on and our separate room for 10 was so nice and so cozy! We could not have asked for anything more. Thank you to all those who contributed to making this a very special birthday celebration!

Oh I LOVE places like this! This is an old (and huge) historical home-turned-restaurant. The vibe is very warm & cozy. It's sort of elegant but also sort of casual; the best of both worlds if you will... My friend and I came here for dinner during the week. We started with the crab & cheddar dip. It was delicious even though it was light on the crab (I didn't really taste it at all), but we licked the plate clean! For my entree, I ordered the sirloin steak (medium-rare) with Brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes. It was the perfect meal!! The steak was flavorful and cooked correctly. The sides were also flavorful and a reasonable portion size. I ate every last bite! For dessert, we shared the creme brûlée. Overall, it was a good dessert but nothing special. Regardless, I would definitely recommend checking this place out for any occasion :)

Vegan options: Was pleasantly surprised by the waitress Emily and chef for creating a few delicious vegan items from scratch, Buffalo cauliflower was so nicely presented with arugula and scallions and a side of homemade buffalo sauce. I was hoping to get the 10k rice which was my favorite before going WFPB. The chef created a similar version using quinoa and veggies which was a close match. Looking forward to more options in the future. Hoping to bump up to 5 stars next time with more options. Thank you!

Great ambiance and a wonderful surprise. Didn't really know what to expect. I read and heard different opinions, I am so so glad that we decided to try it. Always try something once, get the experience yourself. The food was fantastic and the waitress was amazing. We had oysters, shrimp, lobster bake, steak, I feel like we tried a good variety of different options and every single item was fresh and tasty. It is a must try!!!

Scarlet Oak Tavern is a nice place for grabbing a few drinks or choosing to sit down and have a nice meal. Feel comfortable coming in casually or for a dressier occasion. They are located in Hingham, MA. I like that they source produce from local farms. They also have a variety of options like local seafood to brick oven pizzas, vegetarian dishes, seasonal sides and homemade desserts. I believe this restaurant used to be an old house. Loved the layout and decor. You feel at home here with its warm & cozy vibe. I ordered the steak & lobster tail. Although the steak was very tender and tasty, the lobster tail was a little too chewy for my liking. The service was great. Our waitress was a good sport and friendly. Overall good experience.
